"Hollywood Arms"
by Carol Burnett and Carrie Hamilton
Original music by Rob Nassif
Synopsis:
Part comedy, part drama, and tons of music . . . this one has it all! "Hollywood Arms" was co-written by Carol Burnett with her late daughter, Carrie Hamilton, and it is based on Burnett's 1986 memoir "One More Time." The lead characters, Helen, her mother Louise, and the loud-mouthed, opinionated, stubborn but loving grandmother--known as Nanny move into the Hollywood Arms, a one-room flat in Los Angeles. Set in 1941 and ten years later, this autobiographical play takes us down a rocky road of reflection, where big dreams are held up to the harsh spotlight of reality. Will Helen repeat her mother's pattern of decline, or will she rise to the occasion, and become a star? Sometimes, dreams are realized in ones heart and family. Come share this eclectic family's journey where their tears and laughter reflect the very being in us all.
