"Starlighters II Studio Showcase-2009"

Synopsis:

With a mix of veteran and new actors under the guidance of some of Starlighters II's finest directors, the "Starlighters II Studio Showcase" has established a reputation as a distinguished series with a high standard for acting and directing. This ambitious concept features a set of excellent short plays, both comedic and dramatic, written by both established and new playwrights whose works are judged to be outstanding. The "Starlighters II Studio Showcase" is a "must see" for audiences looking for the finest in acting and directing in theatre. It has become a standard against which other such ventures will be judged.

The Plays:

"Sorry" by Timothy Mason
Directed by Rick Sanborn (Stone City)
Synopsis: They live across the street from each other and he spies on her from the roof. He finally goes to meet her and she shoots him through the door. Can they find love or at least friendship? Maybe when the bleeding stops.

"Bag Lady" by Jean-Claude van Itallie
Directed by William Wims (Cedar Rapids)
Synopsis: An eccentric woman lives her richly fantastical life on the streets of the big city. The play is not an attempt to portray the archetypal bag lady. Rather, it is a way of touching on the sense of exile in a particular individual in this historical time.

"Pillow Talk" by Peter Tolan
Directed by Polly Chalstrom (Anamosa)
Synopsis: Can two red-blooded all-American men, forced to share a bedroom at Grandma's house, make it through the night without killing each other? This is one hilarious way to find out.
