Synopsis:

What a perfect way to top off the Dr. Seuss centennial year of 2004!

Imagine a world created by Dr. Seuss with people too tiny to see or an elephant who climbs in a tree.  Dr. Seuss’ characters of his most loved stories come alive, and the Cat in the Hat serves as the narrator in this heartwarming and entertaining musical-comedy.

Horton the elephant lives in a tree to hatch an egg. One day Horton hears voices in a speck of dust, but he has a hard time convincing others of their existence. Meanwhile, in the tiny village on the speck of dust, the Whos are having their own problems over which side of the bread gets buttered.

Like Horton, the smallest child, named Jojo, is ridiculed for trying to do the act of thinking. Both do their best to overcome obstacles. Even if it means that Horton is sold to a circus and has to defend himself on trial.

All of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters will be there.  The Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Mayzie LaBird, General Genghis Khan Schmitz, the Wickersham Brothers, the Whos from Whoville, and even the Grinch makes an appearance.

The music is by Stephen Flaherty, the award-winning composer of the movie musical “Anastasia,” and the Broadway hits “Once on this Island” and “Ragtime.”
