Starlighters II Theatre will be hosting an adult acting class in Monticello. This class is open to to anyone interested in exploring the art of theatre through acting exercises and scene work. The works of Uta Hagen and Stanislavski will be the basis of instruction. No experience is necessary, past participants welcome. Open to anyone High School or older.
Class tuition is $20 and can be paid at the door on July 1st. No advance registration is necessary but if you so choose you can email us at Scholarships are available if the fee creates a financial difficulty Please call 319-480-6827 for information.
The class will take place at the Monticello Community Building. Please use the south entrance.
Bob Furino is one of the founders of Starlighters II Theatre. He has performed in and directed many plays at Starlighters. For many years he was the leader of Starlighters' Young People's Theatre, which taught children the fundamentals of acting and put on an annual showcase of original plays.
Jan Cratsenberg is a retired English teacher and the former director of the Anamosa High School drama department. While working at Anamosa, she taught classes in acting and speech, as well as honors English classes. She has been involved with Starlighters for many years, but recent highlights include directing productions of Trifles, Fruitcakes, and All Through the Night.
