The Rules

• All recipe submissions must be received by March 3.

• Recipes should be for a chocolate cookie, i.e. a cookie with a chocolate base.

• Each participant is allowed to submit up to three (3) recipes for consideration.

• If the recipe submission is not original, the participant must give the recipe source. If it is original, the participant is requested to provide a brief explanation of the recipe's creation.

The Process

• Judges from Starlighters will choose the top two recipes to be made at a bake off on March 17.

• On the day of the bake off, cookies will be prepared by the Kitchen Witches themselves and tested by judges and the audience present at the bake off event.

• All taste-testers will submit their votes for the best cookie via a paper ballot.

• The winner of the ballot vote will receive two (2) complimentary tickets to The Kitchen Witches and an official Kitchen Witches apron. The runner up will receive a Kitchen Witches apron.

• The winning recipe will be featured in the program for The Kitchen Witches, along with a photo of the winner.

• The winning recipe will be made and given out during intermission on opening night (April 6), and the winner will be given a seat of honor at this performance (seat of honor subject to winner's schedule)

The Event

The bake off event will be held on March 17 at 2 PM at the Lawrence Community Center in Anamosa. This event will be free and open to the public. Anyone who attends the event will have the opportunity to enter their names in a drawing for prizes. Prizes will include:

• Two complimentary tickets to The Kitchen Witches

• Cookie Jar

• Hot Pads

• Flour Sack Towels

• Wooden Spoons and Spatulas

• Recipe Cards

• Cook Book

• An Official Kitchen Witches Apron
